Good to have him back. Not getting giddy or having a knee-jerk but I've despaired of our (central) midfield for a while now.

Carrick is a spineless cunt. Couldn't tackle a fish supper.
Anderson tries but where's the creativity to match the muscle?
Ditto Fletcher.

God, I wish Paul Scholes was 10 years younger.

Cleverley is a talented lad, he brings energy and a much needed attacking impetus to the centre of midfield.

I hope SAF doesn't do anything silly like try to mold Jones into a midfielder, with him, Smalling & De Gea we have the spine of the defensive unit for the next 10-12 years.

Surely with Carrick its just a case of waiting for Sunderland to make us a reasonable offer?

Interesting that Carrick isn't playing or on the bench tonight. He [SAF] can't be resting the useless twat.

Also interesting, 2 Keane's and a Cole on the bench for us. If only... Smile

Jones played midfield for Blackburn and by all accounts did a very good job. Either way, I can virtually guarantee he'd be better than Carrick has been recently.

Cleverley looks terrific and I met a Wigan fan who must be one of the few who actually goes to the DW and he had very good things to say about Cleverley. I hope Scholesy's getting to work closely with him. Laughing

Ah but RS, people said O'Shea could play in midfield too.

Here endeth the lesson.

Forgot to mention him playing his slick, moody best...admittedly against Aldershot. Either way, really hope SAF gives him more chances in bigger games.

Get a grip people

there is a thread about Berbatov use it ffs Rolling Eyes

Back to Cleverley is it just me or are there one too many E's in his name Shocked

My opinion is that he works hard, rarely gives the ball away and usually picks the right pass at the right time.

I can't actually think of a clever answer to that. So I will assume your post is racist.

Oi, fool: I think you'll find that the Berbatov post on here was started a minute before the Berba thread.

I know, that post was tending towards the Nic-esque. Embarassed

Love this lad. Top, top player. Most exciting youth product in how long?

Alright Jamie!

I think he's excellent but we did all wax lyrical at some stage about Anderson, O'Shea, Evans etc. No need to get carried away.

The fact he's our best current CM says as much about the competition as it does his form. Love the way he 'processes' the ball though, looks up and drives forward as his first instinct. Only then if nothings on does he slow it and keep possession.

Compare to Carrick. His instant instinct seems to be to check he has an easy sideways pass first and then look forward. Straight away that slight change losses any surprise or impetus in a quick attack.

I thought all 3, Cleverley, Pogba and Morrison did well.
They've at least got some skill and imagination.
I wouldn't mind if all 3 started in a league game - they couldn't do much worse than our usual suspects.
At least Rooney wouldn't have to keep coming back to win the ball himself - someone in midfield could pass to him. Embarassed Embarassed Embarassed

Thank you for adding in a few 'tops'!

I don't recall many fans getting too carried away with Anderson in particular - only when we signed him. As he was compared with Ronaldinho. Rolling Eyes
