This Sanchez bloke.

Does he understand the concept of looking up and successfully completing a pass?

I hope we haven't bought a square peg for a round hole.

This is all based on the the first 39min of his debut.

On the performance, we did what we needed to do, these games are always a no win situation, you win you should have, you lose it’s a giant killing. Glad we came through it whilst resting a few.

I’m really looking forward to Sánchez’ interplay, he will get the ball forward much more quickly and I suspect we’ll score more freely with him in the team. He will help us unlock the better defences.

After 39 minutes I was thinking the same.

But he seems to have some buzz.

Perhaps I'll reserve judgement until later on this year.

About the best you can hope for in a game like this. A comfortable win.

Pleased to see Rashford back on the scoresheet. It seemed to give him a bit of confidence.

Gomez, although only a very brief runout, looked an exciting prospect. Thought he'd scored with that run on goal.

Great to see Carrick back.

And Sanchez, he gave the ball away a fair bit, you have to ask why..Personally I'd like to think it's partly down to debut nerves, not knowing teammates etc. But the main reason he gave the ball away, he wasn't trying the simple, sideways pass every time. When ever he got the ball it looked like he wanted to force things to happen. And the best thing, when he does give it away, he tries to get it back. Decent debut overall

recently our players have made the wrong options, been greedy , or just been poor when that last killer pass is needed.

many times you saw, martial or Lukaku etc turn away in frustration as pogba or Rashford had wasted good possession.

let's give Sanchez that first half as getting shit out of his system.

he links the play, works like a fucking mad man,and he finishes too. the players will love him and so will the fans.

the squad Jose has now assembled is just about there imho.
we have almost 2 quality players for every position.

Now he has the players, he must now get the tactics and style of play right , more often than not he does so let's see where we go from here . Wink

It was interesting to hear Jose say in his post match interview that " for the second goal Marcus would have been too nervous to make that pass" - talking about the pass from Sanchez to Herrera.

He specifically said Marcus.

completely agree.

nice little summing up of Sanchez v Yeovil in The Guardian - https://www.theguardian.com/football/2018/jan/26/alexis-sanchez-manchester-united-fa-cup-yeovil

"He sprinted through the middle then did that thing where he just stops, instantly, like a cartoon mouse spinning on its heel and watching a pair of galumphing cats slide past, legs flailing".

Very Happy

The comments below that article are hilarious. The ABU nation is alive and well and we are just as hated under Jose as we were under Ferguson. And Jose hasn't even got going properly yet. If he wins us the league, some of these bitter pricks are going to need therapy. Laughing

the gaurdian .........

Shocked Wink

In this current United team he is more a baby clementine among the grapefruits, a centimetre shorter even than Juan Mata, who started here, fresh from addressing the reptilian illuminati overlords of the Davos World Economic Forum.
