Even in pre-season, defeat against them is still shit. Ref was fucking awful. That didn't help.

Sanchez, when he got the ball he looked sharp. More of the player we saw at arsenal. Pereira looks ready to be part of the first team. And we will soon see the return Pogba and co.

We've had a few games now. It doesn't look like the style of play has changed much.

Never good to beaten by the Dippers but only the most anti-Jose bellsniff would claim the result is indicative of anything.

We had 4x players out there that could be fairly considered as part of usual starting XI consideration, Herrera, Mata, Bailley and Sanchez, with only one of these likely to start most games. The rest were reserve players or youngsters. The Murderers had virtually their full team available.

I’m not sure what value, other than fitness, this tour is going to provide but it shouldn’t be used as an indicator for anything, nonsensical to do so imho. De Gea, Valencia, Young, Jones, Pogba, Fellaini, Matic, Rashford, Lukaku, Martial, Lingard all missing - I dare say that with those available the result may have been different.

The only thing I would add is that Jose needs to settle on a formation, as the players did not seem to fully understand their roles yesterday. Always hate losing to them. Media drooling over their fat stump scoring an overhead kick against our reserves, FFS.

The fat little cunt can show flashes of brilliance, but more often than not he’s anonymous and lazy.

For me, the most worrying observation from last nights game is that our youth set-up looks pretty uninspiring.

A few years of neglect maybe?

JM is doing his best to maintain some credibility with Sanchez, a couple of players who failed to make their respective counties' WC squads, and a group of kids who at best, will go on to become average players in Belgium/Holland or our lower divisions.

Is it because there is no continuity between the first and Unders teams?

I could be wrong, but it feels like the first and senior team are completely separated. Jose's football isn't what we are playing at academy level, is it? When you looked at the dippers, they were all playing the same tune. Even the youngsters. My guess is that all their Unders teams are playing the same way as the first team, making the step up far easier.

Our lads are coming into a new team with playing a different system, with a manager who has made it clear they are there purely to make up numbers. Jose will dump them as soon as 'his team' are back. He might as well get a load of championship players on loan for the tour.

More about a gulf in quality. With an hour gone and the scores level, the vermin were able to bring on Sturridge, Shaqiri, Gomez and Robertson. All far more superior to our offerings of Chong, Bohui, Williams, Gomes and (a recovering from injury) Fred.

I'd say it was more about a gulf in availability than quality.

With De Gea, Young, Valencia, Jones, Matic, Rashford, Lingard, Lukaku, Martial, Pogba, Lindelof, Fellaini, Romero, Rojo, Smalling all unavailable for selection vs a Murdering Scum squad that was nearly complete then only a fool would expect there to a parity of quality, unless of course we believe that our youth squads, fringe and reserve players should be of the same quality as a Champion's League finalist.
