Not according to FA rule 34, which actually prohibits this, it's just that since Spurs floated the FA has chosen to ignore this rule.

Well now you'd think so wouldn't you except that in sport it seems to work quite well. The US is the most profit hungry, capitalist country on the planet but their professional sports are run in the most socialist way imaginable. The draft rewards the worst club with the 1st pick of the best players....Nuts eh?

Also Bond was right, I didn't understand a word of that sanctimonious clap trap. Keep it simple, small words, short sentences, try to avoid 'isms' and remember I hit metal for a living so you know dumb shit down for me.

The answer to 2 is straight out of the gospel according to D. Conn but he has changed his tune a little since the City acguisition, no? A gift from the Emirates is better than one from Mycenae?

As for 7, yes I do believe the States' system is another elite prolonging device much like the membership ownership of clubs in Europe. I agree it should work but in fact in the US it creates obscene wealth for an oligarchy of owners and in Europe it has always favoured the rich over the poor.

Nor do I think you subscribe to the Neanderthal Times.

However, I have no desire to offend you and that is, therefore, enough from me.

Tempus tacendi.

Dum vivo, spero.

There is no single type of ownership that is good, bad or indifferent - so comparisons are largely pointless as we can all point to exceptions to the rule.

Single benefactor ownership, done well it looks like City, done badly it looks like Newcastle. Works well whilst the owner is enthused, see Chelsea, looks bad when the owner loses interest, see countless examples.

Publicly listed ownership, beholden to shareholders that want to see returns in terms of earnings per share, dividends. Example, United past and present.

Fan ownership, idealistically preferable but difficult to achieve a consistent strategy as fans have a very different set of opinions - witness this happy cabal of Reds as an example.

Ownership and how it is owned is not important, I think this is a red herring.

What is important is that the strategy, vision and aspirations of the club in achieving short, medium and long term aims. The failing at United is there doesn't appear to be a medium or long term plan, either by the owners, the board, the manager or the players - changing the manager every 2-3 seasons means we return back to square one of the short-term plan, we never move forward this way. Had we had a long term strategy then I think the fans would be far more forgiving of the football on show, as they would be able to have some hope of better days to come.

There is a reason the Dippers and Spurs are as happy as pigs-in-shit, even though we've won far more than either during our worst spell in nearly 30 years, they can see progress and progress buys patience and belief of better days to come. It means there is less pressure, with less pressure comes better football.

I don't know any United fan that thinks our best days are ahead of us, herein lies the rub and until this changes then we will see more of the same.

O.K. so I looked it up.

Dum spiro spero means "While I breathe, I hope" in Latin and is a modern paraphrase of ideas that survive in two ancient writers, Theocritus and Cicero. It is a motto of various places, families, and organizations.

I sometimes think I am the only person on the board that didn't study classics at Oxford or Cambridge.

Google is your friend, gentlemen. It’s not about being any more intelligent than typing a few words in the search bar, I’m guessing none of you struggle finding free porn, same principle, just with less cum shots.
