Has Valencia borrowed Luke Shaw’s chef? He looked like he’s had a punnet or two too many pigs in blankets since his last game.

Agreed Sol and Zoo, had to watch DDG through the gaps in my fingers, haven’t been that nervous since I collected a Jim’ll Fix It badge in 1981.

The legend that is Ole’s definitely singled out specific players and worked on specific parts of their game and role as well as the team.

Lindelof’s transformation is incredible but special praise for Matic too.

Think both are benefiting from the general front foot ethos of the team. Now that the team is pressing from the front and holding on to the ball better the defensive midfield and defence aren’t getting attacked from every angle every 5 minutes. So the workload on Lindelof and Matic has reduced meaning both can concentrate on interceptions instead of constant firefighting.

Which certainly seems to suit Lindelof.

It suits Matic too, he doesn’t have the legs to run around putting out fires like Kante but his positioning is great and again, he’s now able to focus on intercepting moves.

And once he’s does there are so many players moving around and ahead of him he can make more forward passes and generally has more options. Making him more useful than in Jose’s ponderous system.

Defending from the front - who would’ve thought it?

De Gea though - why he’s not constantly on his 18 yard line claiming crosses I’ll never know. Shite that lad.
