I don't like to see anyone injured and he's always seemed like a very nice lad but some eyebrows have been raised as to why we sold him.

It looks like we've done a top deal, just 227 appearances since breaking through in 2008 that's just 28 per season (many from the bench) and he's only ever scored 50 club goals that's just over 6 per season on average.

He always seems to pick up little knocks here and there, now out until February 2017 by which time he'll be 26 years old. He has never looked likely to get 20 goals a season.

£16m is looking like a very decent bit of business.

Two crippling knee injuries. The lad gave everything for us and I don't see any reason to gloat over his misfortune any more than Southampton fans would regarding Luke Shaw.

Zoo isn;t gloating I would say, he's merely pointing out what he thinks and you know what he has a good point.
The bloke was never good enough for even a prem club.

Now to get rid of more crap from the club like Rojo

I wish the lad well, as I do with all ex-players that have given their all for us and left for the right reasons. He was however never good enough for us, a nuisance of a forward that could do a job but will never get 20 goals in a season. Hope he recovers well but as Zoo said, good bit of business all in all

No gloating here but Zoo is right.

Didn't come across as a gloat either. Just a statement of fact.

I always feel a tad bad about selling the home grown lads. Frankly £16mis a good price but then we paid £25m for Depay and Danny would have done better this season. I wouldn't judge him as a 20 goal per season man. Hughesie was never that but no one would say he wasn't worth his weight. Danny tended to score some big goals and he is a good target man and a real nuisance defending from the front so an excellent foil for more prolific but less hard working strikers. It may have seemed decent business at the time but the way it's worked out (always assuming of course he didn't get the same injuries here) it was the wrong season to sell him. If RVP was past his sell by date and Chich was disaffected by his treatment, Danny was young enough and committed enough to do a job. If he'd stayed and was fit we'd have something like 10 more goals, a similar number of assists and we'd be two places higher. Poor decision ultimately.

I agree with the above. Welbeck would have been of far more value to us this season than £16m in the bank.

spunking that money on Rojo and Depay = Not good business

Depay has been shite minus one game, but I do feel he has some potential with the right training unlike Rojo who has to go

Circumstances would have been different

Who's to say he'd have had the injuries had he remained at Utd?

Have you seen our injury record?? They'd be more chance of us qualifying for the CL tonight than him having an injury free season
