it's worth a couple of mentions Jacky lad.

Thought we played well, players look more up for it, and hopefully this carries on.

without wanting to sound like a conspiracy nut job.

Mata , excellent again , and taken off again.

I cannot recall him not being subbed this season, it's every game ?

is Mourinho trying to force him out , but really really slowly Laughing Laughing

I didn't think Mata was particularly 'excellent' last night, he had a decent game.

Maybe Jose takes him off because he tires towards the end of games and/or he wants to keep him in good shape for our next game?

Not sure how I managed to do that twice an hour apart. Groundhog Day or post match beer? I reckon the latter.

Although like JS I was appalled about Juan's substitution again and raised at the very
least a questioning eyebrow towards the bench I do feel that the reason is likely to be his stamina and the need to keep him fresh.

I know that some think Lingard not good enough for this squad. I am not one of them. He offers something different.

Rooney was good. Ibra I still feel has some way to go.

The Mata debate, well I think it has absolutely nothing to do with Jose's opinion on him, just that Mata is restricted in what his game is about.

What Mata has to offer is fantastic but at the same time is limited. He doesn't bring pace nor power. He doesn't bring any defensive qualities. Mata is purely and simply a key to unlock a defence. He will see a space and will play that killer pass.

When 60-70 mins have been played and we've struggled to score (a regular occurrence this season), Mata is often the player hooked off because there is no space for him to operate. Instead we look to a more physical player to use like a battering ram or for a player that will beat their man and get in behind the defence.
When we are ahead Mata swapped for a more defensive minded player, or a player with a but of pace to Hut teams on the break..
