Shaw was like a veteran in a testimonial I thought.

How did you think he played well? Amazed.

"Played well" might not be the best term to use, but he was effective, more so than our other attacking options.

The left hand side of the team saw a huge improvement when he came on. He played early balls into the box. He looked forward at every time he got the ball. He was ready to receive the ball in attacking positions and, scuffed shot or not, he did win us the penalty.

Pretty good for a player who hasnt had a decent run of games for ages, is 'weeks behind' the rest of the squad, is low on confidence and is not trusted by the manager.

They do, he's mine as well. He works just above the goats-testicle sandwich shop, which has always struck me as odd.

The disallowed goal really bears out what I was trying to say on an earlier thread - an assistant with a mindset of favouring the defence. I am not sure that the video ref is the answer without dealing with that mindset.

From a terrace perspective the timidity of the play certainly creates nervousness among huge sections of the crowd and I am prepared to accept that a lot of these are the JCL/Glory Hunter sheeple but not all by any means.

Blind didn't do much irritating other than remind us with a free kick that he can be an option further forward but Shaw was a better option. He actually got a quiet crowd going so a lot of people are behind him. Carrick and Fellaini are too sluggish. Herrera was okay as they go. Zlatan was equally sluggish and missed a great chance early doors. To get the best out of him we don't just need wide men but wide men who can hit good crosses. If not DB GN would do.

It is all too slow and too predictable. Much of that is I think the low confidence. I doubt we will win the Europa with those confidence levels. From believing someone is going to get a tanking some day I have come down to thinking it may be us and it may take another of the Chelsea kind for the penny to drop that the current methods are not working. This must be by far the biggest challenge of Jose's career. It has all gone swimmingly up to here.

I'm sick to fucking death of hearing how good Carrick is. Sits on the halfway line dithering on the ball before playing a five yard pass.
Why are our attacks slow and predictable I wonder?
Confused

I'm not one for stats, as you know, however the special one now has the worst win % for home league games since 1974, even the greats like Dave Sexton, Ron Atkinson and David 'Davie' Moyles have better records.

I'm sure stats are the lifeblood of any red-headed Health and Safety executive, alas the only stat that matters is the one that confirms we can't hit the side of a cow's arse with a banjo.

As you were, you ginger swine. Wink

By contrast he also has the least defeats for a United manager in his first season, the best lost % for home league games and the most trophies as a United manager in his first season.

Those stats, hey? Rolling Eyes

Only a boring bell end trots out stats like that!
