there's a strong argument that the sign of a good side is one which wins when playing badly.

well we must be fucking brilliant then, because that was the worst performance in a win ,defeat or draw I think i've seen in the last 5 years....

a game we drew last season, another 3 points etc etc etc

but that was woeful, absolutely shocking . Crying or Very sad

Too negative today in the 2nd half, lucky to win but that's another 3 points and we'll rarely play as poorly.

Everyone played shit, including De Gea and we still won. Other years that would have been a draw or a loss. With the way other results went today, I'm delighted we got three points.

The draw against Stoke, 2nd best for large parts on the game against Everton and worst performance of the season today. All games we would've lost/drew last season.

When Jose is your manager you never expect it to be pretty. But he does have know how to get results. And when the win is all but assured, he let's the players off the leash to run riot and entertain.

I probably expect too much.i also had a mate (utd fan ) texting me constantly about how fucking brilliant city where and how many goals they are scoring...

I'd imagine if Huddersfield or Burnley played Saints yesterday and played so poorly, but won we'd be saying it was a brilliant display.

I suppose the positive has to be, when you play that badly against anyone , chances are you can't help but get beat, whatever we did yesterday we managed not to .

I thought our first half display wasn't too bad actually, we were sharp, and in control without creating too many clear-cut chances. Saints came at us in the 2nd half (something you ought to expect at their ground), and I thought we dealt with them comfortably, I didn't see DDG troubled too much.
Ironically, it was us (Lukaku and Herrera) who missed the best opportunities in the 2nd half.

More importantly... what the fuck has happened to Phil Jones? Very Happy

We had plenty of these days under SAF: playing shit, cunt of a ref, 1-0 win, 3 points, thank you very much. It's the stuff title wins are made of. We're missing our best midfielder and are still trying to build a squad fit to challenge for the league.

Results like this will do the team's confidence more good than gubbing Everton 4-0. Of course, compared to Oil Money FC, it's not so good. But they are flying at the moment. The season has a long way to go...

I think the fact that I was pleading for us to get a second rather than hoping that they didn't score is evidence that we are far better equipped this season.

One game at a time chaps. One game at a time.
