I see a 1-1 or a 1-1 at 90 and Rashford get the winner Wink

Anything but a defeat for me, and I'm not overly fussed how we get it. Fully expect us to park the bus.

They have shown frailties over the last few months, conceeding lots of chances from set pieces etc. Hopefully we can exploit that.

Least confident I've been all season, especially after your win at Arsenal and out trip to the moon and back this midweek.

Fully expect to have 65%+ possession, but concerned with fast counter-attacks, ALL set plays and whether Herrara will man mark KdB

We will almost certainly start with

...................Ederson
Walker Kompany Otter Delph
.........KdB....'Dinho Silva
Sterling......Aguero......... Sane

Subs: Bravo, Danilo, Mangala, Gundogan, Yaya, Bernadfo, Jesus

Don't mention it Wink

is he allowed to do board jinx on the opposition, or does it not count because as it's the opposition it can't work in reverse, so therefore it can actually work as a double reverse in reality ? Confused

Best team won that, no question, but we absolutely gifted them two goals and Lukaku was involved in both of those gifts. I have no idea what Ashley Young was doing in that position for their corner for the 1st goal, I have even less idea why he stayed there and played everyone onside. Fair play to City, they took their chances, good weekend for them, as every other team playing for 2nd spot fucked it up.

Frustrating game that. Felt we could've caused them problems, but looked far too nervous to do so.

Defensively we looked fairly sound for most of the game. Lindlehof didn't look out of place, which is a plus. He seems to be finding his feet now.

Disappointed with our forward play. Hard for them when they are feeding off scraps, but they had a few chances and need to start doing better.

Teams will play far better against them and come off worse than we did. Sometimes you just have to accept the better team won and move on.

A league title was probably out of reach anyway. We just failed to keep it interesting. So, a fight for second place it is. And if we can pick up another trophy along the way then great.

Allowed them to go up the centre too easily. They were playing across the front of our back four with ease.We couldn't keep hold of the ball and gave them too much possession.Should have been a higher score to them....a game Fellani would have been suited to!

Can someone please tell Lukaku to get the fuck out of our penalty area at set-pieces?
Two assists today following him bringing the best save of the match out of DdG last week against Arsenal.

And while we're at it, why has Matic suddenly decided he needs to take at least 17 touches before releasing the ball?

I look at it another way...

Matic was the only player with the bottle to try and hold up play to enable our attackers to get forward, rather than hoof it forward and hope for the best. I don't know the stats, but I don't recall him giving the ball away too often?

^^ this ^^

I love watching him play, unruffled, unflustered and authoritative on the ball. Uses it wisely too. I couldn’t disagree more that he doesn’t release it, he doesn’t lose it if there’s not a pass on.

We weren't good enough to compete at the start of the season, and we certainly aint good enough now. We're coming along, doing better than expected, but the sharpness of our play versus our title-chasing teams of the past is woeful.

I just hope this doesn't lead to a really drab second half of the season where we forget about the league completely in our quest for cups.

There's a big part of me that wants to fume at our pathetic attempt at controlling a game at home to our rivals, but I think they'd have won out whatever happened so there you go.

It was pretty close, though. Two scrappy gifted goals from non-strikers, and DDG makes one routine save all day.

We didn't really start playing football until the 42nd minute and then we asked some questions. An injection of confidence would not go amiss. I have some doubt about Lukaku as the main striker at the moment but don't really hold him responsible for the two assists.

City did deserve the one real stroke of luck with the double save. David Silva and Sane were the difference.

After that double save at the last, my mate said "now you know how the rest of us feel every week with that bastard you have in goal." 😁😁😁

I see Arteta got split afterwards. Arsenal fanny to the last.
