To be fair, if I were Jose I'd fuck off right now. You can't polish a turd, and we had some lazy fucking turds out there today.

Although we had a few bright moments today, we seem to have taken a step backwards.

We appear to be suffering from the same problems that plagued us under LVG. We look tired, low on confidence and seem to only wake up when it's to late. When you look at how easily spurs tore them apart, we hardly gave the keeper a save to make.

Early in the season all of our attackers could win us a game. Now it's like we are hoping 1 stands out from the rest and nicks a goal.

Mhky... felt sorry for the bloke. Felt he worked hard but was awful.. clearly low on confidence. We've seen how good he can be, so it's the only reason he could be that bad. You have to ask, given he isn't the only one looking low on confidence, why? The players seem shit scared of Jose at the moment. He doesn't seem to be fighting with the players, but against them.

Im still a long way from thinking Jose should be sacked, but questions have to be asked as to why we seem to have hit a wall. If we are not careful we find ourselves out of the top four soon. Jose's answers seem to be to spend money, blame players, blame refs etc... anything to distract from the problems.

That was a performance that stunk the place out, lacked tempo, effort and basic skills such as how to cross a fooking football.

I just listened to the muppets on Radio5 on the way home saying sack Jose.

Simple questions for me would be: -

1. Who could do a better job?
2. Is a season and a half (with two trophies) long enough to turn us into contenders?
3. Do we want to be a sacking club?

I think we need a bit of patience, another couple of windows to bring in talent, replace aging talent. Don’t underestimate the lack of investment that SAF was allowed to make in the last 5 year’s of his management, the damage inflicted by Moyes and LvG and City finally getting their shit together after spunking well over £1b to do so. Too many people comparing spend and not relating that to the starting position. Had Jose spent £300m from the position City were in we’d now be at the top of the league. Jose has spent £300m taking a team that finished 7th.

There's a 'cancer' in the club.

Anyone watching and being honest in the last few seasons of SAF's reign would say we were coming off the boil. We were a starting to lose our shine.

Moyes, a fucking disaster, always a terrible appointment. Some people have suggested he was a patsy, bring in a fucking idiot for a season or so to take the pressure of the guy you really want to take the club forward. I don't subscribe to this theory only because of who they appointed next.

LVG a proven winner, been a great manager everywhere except at United. Produced a boring, dour side that didn't seem to know what was expected of them, ran too little, moved the ball too slowly, easily predicted and all too easily beaten by the rest of the top 6.

Mourinho another proven winner, yes his style leaves a lot to be desired but he has always produced results. Look at us now, 5th last year, currently 3rd but going backwards fast, can't pass, can't score and rarely look likely to.

Can these two proven winners suddenly be shite? Can we really be expected to believe that the close to half a billion they've spent was all wasted? Are our scouts that bad? Are our directors so inept?

Something is rotten in the state of Denmark my friends.

I once said "you can't polish a turd" about something and the guy I was talking to said "nope, but you can keep rolling it in in glitter " Shocked

I think this now pretty much sums us up,

I and others were slagged off months ago for questioning the quality of our play, labelled as spoilt for daring to question the fact our football was poor lacked a motive on most occasions , "we were winning, we were second, we were in the champions league etc etc etc was what we were told.

Well ,,we were simply rolling the turd in glitter then and it's now all worn off.

What do we do, where do we go ?.
I would imagine this team needs a spark , be that a new player , a new coach , a new manager ??? I'm not sure, I never have liked Jose and probably never will, but the players we have available should be able to perform in a way that can overcome the likes of Burnley and saints , but de ja vu like season we simply can't!!!!

We faltered to deceive early in the season with those 4-0 wins , we now have to re evaluate and evolve , for that we need a mobile forward , and a new playmaker midfielder, winger.ozil? Mahrez?..

Will they arrive in January ? I doubt it , so I expect a drawn out slog to the seasons end with a likely top 4 finish the only competetion we can achieve, fuck me we've become arsenal ........ Embarassed Embarassed Embarassed

Spot on.

Rashford and Martial in particular are the biggest culprits. They offer absolutely fuck all whether we're coming out of defence, even when we have a throw in or a free kick. Probably the reason Matic appears to dwell so much on the ball and why Miki gives it away so much.

Lingard offers plenty of movement too. I’d argue it’s his key strength for us. He constantly takes up great positions. I think it’s more than this though, I think they’ve given up moving into good positions as they’re not getting the ball when they do. We consistently make the wrong decision or deliver a shite ball too early, too late, or with no accuracy.

If the only player to move off the ball is Mata, the problem is with the tactics/coaching. It's easy to single out Rashford and Martial, but the fact is none of our attackers are playing consistently well, all seem to lack movement.

We've seen what both Rashford, Martial, Mhky etc can do. Why has it stopped? One of the pundits made a good point yesterday. When we watch Pep, you see a man who is coaching his players. When we see Jose he looks ready to suck someone's eyes out. That's not a healthy place to be in.

Jose does seem to have reached that point we've often seen. The point he loses the fans, the dressing room and the plot and ends up sacked. His biggest test now, and one he's never had the chance to accomplish, can he get us back on track?

I didn't really see lack of heart or desire yesterday. I saw a team Which couldn't solve a puzzle and the burden of that knowledge grew heavier and heavier as the clock ticked down.

I think it has been this way since they were set up to defend against a Murdering Scum team whose weakness was the leakage of goals. The fragile confidence built up against relatively inferior opposition in a number of late finishes was pricked then and has ebbed away since.

I do think the solution to the puzzle lies with the coach and he does have to learn to adapt. He did very well last season, all things considered, and he held the key in his hand at the beginning of this. It is really up to him to think about where he's mislaid it and not fall into the trap of blaming everyone else.

If he can't there is only downhill from here. Forget Paris St. Germain. It's Watershed City next.

The team will be okay. All glory years end in tears but then another generation comes and lifts you out of the trough.

Matic, Miki were woeful IMHO, and we miss Herrera, Rashford is producing a min here, a min there of talent. Lukaku, well I'm speechless as to what has happened to him.
Mata , and Young are the only two who seem they want to attack. We certainly miss Valencia, and where the fuck is Pogba lately? Granted he plays a nice pass every now and again, but now and again is not what he was brought in to do..
Smalling needs to be sold, Jones looks slow.
Ah bollocks enough said I'm on a rant
What ever is going on then ti needs sorting ASAP

Eyes was right. Using Herrera in there like a snarling dog which then looks beseechingly at the boss when he's snaffled the drumstick off the table actually worked. Earlier in the season he didn't seem able to sort out his role with Matic but as SR says on another thread it puts Paul 10 metres up the pitch. Attack looked much more mobile. Herrera plays better when Mata plays too.
