Early in the season, when we looked like title challengers Wink, Jose often brought on Fellaini to sit along side Matic and Pogba. Rather than see the game out, Pogba was able to push forward. As soon as he went further forward the goals started flowing.

Since Fellaini and/or Pogba have been injured suspended and performances slipped.

Yesterday, due to injuries etc, Pogba was pushed forward with Herrera sitting along side matic. Although it wasn't a perfect performance, the longer the game went on the more comfortable we looked.

Id like to see Jose go with a similar set up over the next few weeks. Pogba further forward does seem to be the solution to our lack of cutting edge in attack.

I agree with all of this. I think injuries and suspensions have curtailed this approach but with all things being equal we look far better with 3x in the middle.

Everytime another team gets within our box I cringe. Baily, and Valencia are sorely missed IMHO too, Smalling and Jones are OK, but for a club chasing titles they are not.

If we were to buy a player it surely would be a Jaap Stam , Pally, Bruce etc sort of player.

We haven’t had a decent return from a centre-half since Steve Bruce. For the last 2 decades you could probably count on two hands how many times we’ve scored from a corner. I’m not surprised our centre-backs don’t chip in with more goals, we don’t give them a chance to.

Every corner we got in the LVG era ended up with De Gea after 3 passes. Lol.

It was never that decisive, it took at least 27 nothing passes to get back to De Gea. Laughing
