So I just went to see who are the favourites to win the world cup and it said Brazil at 5. Which I assume is 5-1.
They are followed by Germany at 9/2. But surely 9 divided by 2 is 4.5 to 1 which is shorter than 5/1.
What am I not understanding ?

Think you're mixing decimal & fractional odds up there stig. Decimal odds of 5 means 4/1. So would be shorter than 9/2. _________________ We have some right mardy twats as fans, Chubby is the worst. |

i just tried putting £10 on Brazil (bet 365) and it gave my return as £60 , so that's a normal 5/1
it also has Germany as favourites at 9/2 .
it strikes me they've just made an error stig _________________ People say I'm condescending. That means i talk down to people |
