They will park the bus. We will play cautiously. This has draw written all over it.

good call SR

after my optimism against Spurs i'm crawling back in my shell, and using the boards jinx to hopefully it's full effect.

3-1 Newcastle Wink

Jose at fault for this one...
Pogba clearly not fit or up to it....should not have played.
No fight in midfield.
Smalling a liability.....
Shite performance

too many shite performances from individuals who should be performing better (Pogba, Matic).

...and this Jones/Smalling combo never really has worked has it?

FFS.

Yet again our attack shows it has potential but falls short. Yet again our defence put further pressure on the attackers by conceding a sloppy goal. Up until their goal I was confident we would get the result, but as soon as they scored the game was over.

Pogba shouldn't have started. Clearly felt something in the warm up. Carrick or McT could've come in and would have been more effective.

I'm sick of the jones/Smalling pairing. Lindlehof/Rojo wouldn't do much worse. Id even have more confidence with Carrick at the back.

Same shit, different result. I'm not surprised.

You can pick out individual performances all you like but so many players have looked so shaky for so long something bigger must be at play.

I didn't expect us to be an exciting team under Mourinho, but after 18 months I damned well expected us to look a helluva lot less sloppy than we do now. People keep banging on about signings but I'm much more concerned with our style and execution: IMO we could have a dream team out there and would still fall short.

Newcastle DIDN'T park the bus, and we still lost. Newcastle. This season. Fuck me. Can anyone still put hand on heart and say they have optimism for our next campaign? I think our players look as lost and low on confidence as they have in the past two years.

I am deadly serious, we need Pogba & Lukaku to have amazing world cups so we can fuck the pair of them off. If we can get our money back (unlikely) I'd take it in a fucking heart beat.

They are taking the piss, cruising through matches in 2nd gear, both are clearly capable of more but aren't giving it.

Matic & Pogba got bullied and humiliated by a retarded, bald, scouse cock sucker. In the past we've had players that would have snapped his knee and pissed in his mouth when he cried.

We're jogging, the opposition is sprinting. We pass a ball 5 yards to a team mate and it misses by a yard. Too short, too long, too heavy, too wide. We make football look hard and there is absolutely no joy on that pitch at all. They look like they hate every minute but they'll still milly rock or dab their fucking way to the Aston Martin dealership.

That sums up pretty much exactly why I find us so hard to watch these days.

Not surprised at the result.

An age-old question, but which manager out there could make our team play some exciting football?

Moyes, LvG and Jose all have similar taste for the mentality and "attacking" style. I am in no way comparing Jose to Moyes.

For me, it is Pochettino or Ancelotti.

I'd certainly prefer them to Jones and Smalling

As a team we are less than the sum of the individual parts.

No guts, no characters, no leaders, no imagination, boring to watch, a sense of inevitability about going behind and the game being a lost cause once we did, same time (bar one) as the other 30 times we've conceded first in the last 4 years.

But hey its better than under Moyesey and LVG so who am I to complain.

If Jose is to be a success at United he's going to half to start being ruthless, starting with Smalling... the lad is a calamity waiting to happen and the fact he's made a career for himself playing for Manchester United is baffling. Give Lindelof a run now and get a proper centre-half in in the summer and ship Smalling off to Watford where he belongs

Agreed, when tested, he's all over the place.

I think that is really it. No matter how much one blames individuals, team selection or tactics, there is enough talent there to win these matches comfortably but it hasn't yet worked consistently in harness.

Not only is Smalling fucking shite, he drags whoever he's playing alongside down to his level.
