Now that the dust has settled there are two things from yesterday, and the season in general, that show me we have a problem with Jose. I want to support him and hang on the ' we are better than we were. 2nd in the league. Won the European League etc.. but;

Rashford. Was a bright exciting 18 year old scoring on European debuts, England debuts the lot. Now he is 20 and looks completely lost and confused. When he is one on one with a keeper he looks like he would rather be anywhere else than there.

Taking an exciting 18 year old and turning him into a confused scared 20 year old is bad management.

Pogba. Was supposed to be our midfield controller like Robson, Keane, Beckham, Scholes etc.. he was the worst player on the pitch yesterday. He has won this award a few times this season. That is eitehr poor recruiting or poor management. Whatever it goes back to management.

Sanches- Paul Scholes says " his performaces can't get any worse."

We have a manager who doesn't seem able to get a performance out of anyone.

Yesterday we looked like a Championship side. Huddersfield at best.

Whilst on the subject of killing off our attacking talent... Memphis Depay.. now, I know it's only the French league but is getting plenty of goals and assists and leaves the question, what if? It's no surprise that these types of players struggle in teams that play the Jose/LVG way... slow and boring..

Laughing sorry mate but yesterday we actually played quite well, not at all like Huddersfield or indeed a championship side. We had two chances to win the match and we took neither, Rashford should have buried his chance, Pogba had a free header and put it well wide. Chelsea absolutely parked the bus and played wholly on the break, but we dominated the match.

Rashford is not a striker, he is a wide player. His goals to games ratio are that of a wide player, he just hasn’t got the experience to lead the line, neither has he got the physicality. He hasn’t gone backwards, he’s playing like all 20 year olds play with so much to learn, we expect far too much from him but he’s been poor as a #9 because he isn’t one. He looks scared because he’s not good enough for that position, it’s a reality if you look at his goal return.

Thought Pogba was OK, certainly not a bad performance, our best spells were with him driving us on, winning tackles, being strong and spreading the play.

You can’t blame Jose for yesterday, he got his tactics right, we just didn’t execute them well enough, Jones made 2 huge mistakes, one was not being on his toes to intercept the danger (he hesitated) and then he took Hazard out trying to recover his original mistake.

When the man of the match is one of the defenders it says much about the game.

We can blame Jose for many things, but he got it mostly right yesterday, some of our players are simply not up to the job. The only thing I would have liked to see is Mata on much earlier to unlock the doors to at least one bus, maybe two.

I need to pay more attention because I thought that we were dire.

It felt like we could still be playing and wouldn't have scored.

Agreed. Our play is slow and lethargic and simply not quick or incisive enough to beat the opposition. By the time we have reached the opposition's area they have regrouped and space is lost. The only way we can score is by having to play the perfect pass to score the perfect goal, which by the law of averages means it doesn't happen very often. Martial needs to be on the left wing and Marcus on the right.

Also, what I don't like, is that Jose seems to lambast the younger players when sometimes an arm around them or some form of understanding would produce better results. Fergie was the master in knowing when to go ballistic and when to sit down and have a chat. His man-management of these players is simply awful and his tactics are too methodical and rigid to get the most out of the skilful players in our squad. Martial and Rashford must not be allowed to leave, they must be developed and nurtured into realising their full potential.

Yeah I was saying the same thing around the 85th minute – it wasn’t a game where you were expecting us to equalise.

Same shit different day. Often it’s enough to drag us over the line but that’s pretty much all we do – grind out results. Based on the last two years I don’t expect much to change next season.

I just hope Mourinho whinges his way to get us someone like Bale over the summer so when he’s inevitably hounded out in the next 12 months the new guy will have an even better squad to work with.

A 29 year old, injury prone player on MEGA wages, on a MEGA fee, who has missed nearly 100 games for Real Madrid through injury since joining and plays in a position where you have just committed £500K pw of salary?

Yeah, that's just what you need Shocked Shocked

I'm with nic on this one Shocked .

Good player and all that but his injuries, age etc are a huge issue for me. And the fact I would have huge doubts about Jose's ability to use him effectively.

Bottom Line.

I think our players are individually, except DdG, performing below their best and as a team we are performing at less than the sum of the parts.

I think Jose is too miserable to motivate anyone around him. He looks sullen.

Bale would be a ridiculous signing.
