United have entered a team into the women's league.

Having had my younger sister play, and doing a bit of coaching within the women's game, I'm pleased united have now got a team we can get behind.

Also, I look forward to them visiting the club my sister and I played for, Lewes.

Anyone else share my enthusiasm?

I have next to no enthusiasm for women’s football.

I’m all for equality for men and women in all walks of life but I just find women’s football boring.

Maybe one day my mind will be changed.

Nope, sorry I would genuinely rather watch Nicola Sturgeon shave her lady parts.

I have to be careful at home because a female relative plays to a pretty high level and I confess she is very skilful and knowledgeable BUT......

For me it's the lack of any physicality, the womens game is a FIFA dream, no tackling, no contact just passing, passing, execute a skill, pass again, take a shot. Really dull and dreary.

I feel Utd have bowed to pressure by re-establishing their womens team.

I watched England win the gold medal at the Commonwealth games in Netball, that was incredible, the speed, the accuracy and skill I'd pay to watch that. I watched the ladies get the gold in Hockey at the Rio Olympics as well, that was amazing and tense and physical. I'd happily watch that.

Womens football just leaves me cold.

Not sure that I will get to any of their matches but I will be following their results
Hopefully they progress and I will live long enough to see us dominating the men's and women's leagues

I think the coverage of women's football gives this impression. Even as someone with an interest in womens football, the way it is covered is shite... I don't quite know how to describe it, but the best comparison I can think of is to soccer aid, or some other charity type game.. just a bit to nice.

The game itself is just as physical. And played at far more pace than Jose's team Wink. You don't get the diving and feigning of injuries you get in the men's game. Having joined in this a few training sessions with my sister, they can be brutal in the tackle. I found it just as tough as Sunday league.

It defied belief that a club of United’s stature didn’t have a women’s team, glad they’ve addressed it. Like anything, if you like it watch it, if you don’t then don’t, but United should have a women’s team.

I think this indifferent attitude to ladies' football is the norm for the majority of proper fans, both male and female.

As mentioned above though, at least they're physical and can take a tackle. Which is more than can be said for the majority of the top professionals on the men's side.

I cannot stand netball. Hate the fucking game. I am ambivayabout women’s sport in general. Athletics aside. Although they’re all on drugs like the men so what’s the point.

I really resent Sky ramming women’s sport down our necks now they are losing everything worth watching to other channels. Cynical tokenism to fill in the gaping holes their schedules. That’s getting fucked off from my house soon. Go pub for United & sod the rest.

I'm pleased my 6 year old daughter, who loves playing football, will have some positive female footballing role-models to look up to. I don't want her growing up thinking she should follow out-dated gender norms. If she wants to be a footballer and dreams of being one then why should she be denied this dream by a bunch of blokes that don't get it.

Perhaps women's football just isn't for some people, in the same way as blind football or walking football may not be, but it should be there for those that want to access it nonetheless.

Women's football is growing at an incredible rate, it's a very different experience to men's football and there are plenty of people that prefer it. I'm not one of them but as mentioned, if you like it watch it, if you don't do something else.
