Football season doesn't start for another 3 weeks and some of you are already bored of the style of football we haven't yet played. Rolling Eyes

It's not just the manager that sucks the life out of supporting United, some of our fans are getting expert at it.

I think you should all go outside and enjoy the sunshine Laughing

I know right! The nerve of some people... why cant everyone just switch off their brains and disregard the last 12 months of shit on a stick football he's served up after spending record amounts on players that he ends up not playing.

I think these so called "fans" need a lesson in football heritage.

Tell me, what joy have I sucked out the club that Jose's football hasn't?

I'll have a rant when I don't like what I see, and enjoy the good monents, but that's what football is about and what these forums are for right?

If I'm so wrong let's debate why, rather than throwing out petty comments that add nothing. Share the positives you have seen, 'coz right now even our manager can't see them.

I don’t think anyone needs a lesson, but maybe some need to give their head a wobble. If you want to live in last season and force that onto next season without a ball being kicked then fill your boots.

You will need to remind me how many points carry over from last season, I think it’s zero but I may be wrong. Does it not make sense to look forward to a NEW season, with great emphasis on the word NEW? Let’s see who we buy, who we don’t, who we sell, who we don’t.

See, that's better. A grown up, sensible comment that adds to the discussion. And one I partly agree with.

I know it's very early days. We have players to come back etc. Hopefully I am proved wrong. All I am looking for is a fresh faced, optimistic Jose ready to tackle the season ahead. And to build anticipation for the new season. Up till now I've seen/heard nothing that says this season will be different/better. This is a concern for me.

Mauricio Pochettino saying practically the same as Jose...

I wonder if the press scum will be prowling like hyenas for his blood, or his own 'fans' whining like teenage brats on the Spurs forums?

I know the questions are rhetorical but will they fuck-as-like. United are held to a different standard in terms of news content. It's a pain but also a privilege. Hated, adored but never ignored.

We are at a disadvantage for the start of the season, as a disproportionate amount of our impact players were involved throughout the WC.

The Jose bashers will be along to lament the lack of squad depth but who wouldn't miss Lukaku and Pogba? Not to mention De Gea, Rashford, Lingard and Young?

On the plus side Jones being unavailable is a blessing. Laughing

Quirk of fate that we had impact players making an impact at the WC, stands to reason their absence will also be impactful. These aren't excuses btw, but there are few teams, if any, that would cope with all of their best talent being unavailable.

The lack of team spirit comes from the top. Jose, with his little sly digs constantly undermining the players makes him impossible to love.

Mourinho also said he knew of Anthony Martial’s decision to return home for the birth of his child earlier this week. “When it is personal reasons, everyone analyses the way he thinks is the correct way,” Mourinho said.

“And when a man is going to be a father – in this case, it’s the second time he is going to be a father – and he decides it is very important for him to go, nobody has the right to stop him to go.”

Why say this? Why make out like you think because it's his second child he didn't need to go? But he wanted to, against your wishes? Why leave it open to interpretation, why create the doubt?

Mourinho also confirmed the defender Matteo Darmian wants to leave United. “Matteo wants to leave and when a player wants to leave, if the right offer arrives, you have to try to be human and let the player follow his instinct but not at any price,” he said, before discussing his lack of options at right-back.

“Until now the offers we got for Matteo are not even close to being accepted. [Antonio] Valencia is injured and he will be injured for the beginning of Premier League, Diogo Dalot is also in the recovering phase, he will not be ready for beginning of Premier League.

“Ashley Young is a possibility to play right-back but he is on holiday. I don’t know if he fancies to be back for that and put himself to be available for the team or stay on holiday.

Again, so fucking unnecessary to question if Ashley Young 'fancies' it.

I confess I can't see a lot wrong with that, certainly nothing which can't be put down to language. When you are asked questions on the hoof you don't always answer as you would if you were preparing a press communique. He's basically saying the player wanted to go and I don't think it fair to stop him and / or the player can come if he wants but I won't order him to. Really, what's wrong with that?

Jose is often a little long-winded with his answers and his explanations and too much is read into them and into his quite obvious annoyance with the repetition of these questions ad nauseam.

It's all a red herring this anyway. The EPL has decided in its typically arrogant way that we will start a week before other major European leagues and that means a number of top teams will have top players not quite ready but as Jose has said three weeks' rest is the minimum requirement. Those who played in the World Cup will be ready after that rest and a week's training, if they are not injured.

You're reading way too much into comments made at press conferences by a football manager. Has he actually implied that because it's his second child it's less important? Or have you just pulled this assumption out of your ass? Nobody can actually win when each sentence is deconstructed to the nth degree. He hasn't actually said anything here that's unreasonable, you could easily argue it's quite the opposite, but for some reason you've taken issue with it.

On Ashley Young, fuck all wrong with what he's said there and I suspect nothing that he hasn't said directly to the player. I doubt Jose conducts his conversations with the players exclusively through the medium of press conferences, but I could be wrong.

that's how some people react to a trophyless season when they've never experienced it before I suppose.

We’ll continue this conversation later in the season, I’ve pencilled it in my diary.

I genuinely hope he proves me wrong but I certainly won’t be holding my breath.
