Yeah, I told him I had no interest in playing for Mourinho either.

It's the one day of the year I can't bring myself to browse the web (much) or watch anything to do with SkySports, such is the tedium of it all.

From the brief things I've seen it looks like we're in full-on panic-buy mode. Every cloud though, as at least we can't buy Fellaini. Laughing

Not good if the manager and Chief Exec don't see eye to eye on transfers. Mourinho has already said he gave Ed his list a long time ago, cue more moaning. Not brilliant before the start of the season. How could Everton sign a supposed target of ours for £28.5m, yet we couldn't?

I'm sure Ed would argue that Jose brought 2 CB's last season. He needs to get the best out of the players he has.

I totally agree. Jose won't be happy though, the list, the list!

It shows what nonsense the media spec is. Poch says we made no offer for Alderweireld. Why would be interested in Mina? Maguire maybe but there is no evidence there either. It is best ignored until the club confirms it. I suppose we will now have the predicted exodus of our top players until the foreign Windows close.

i don't watch sky sports or read any papers when it's transfer season, because basically it's a load of shite,
most of the biggest ever signings were done without the media getting a sniff.
the media make up stories so what you see and read is often fiction.

what we do know as the "truth" is what comes out of Jose's mouth , which for the last few weeks (months - years in some cases ) is almost definitely complete bullshit too.
he tells the Jose agenda to suit his story.

he christened himself the "special one" - well if he is so special he should be able to get a tune out of the multi million pound squad he has, sean Dyshce , ranieri, Simeone to name but 3 are managers who achieved miracles with waaaaay less to work with than "the special one"

if you ask me, he is simply doing what he does best, casting the blame as far away from himself as he can, when we fail this season , he can say
" i wanted centre back, to build team from back, i not get centre backs, i left to work with the players i have ( some of whom he had bought already Rolling Eyes ) , so with no centre backs, how could we challenge "

it's time to shut his mouth and do what he is paid £10 million a year to do, manage the fucking team and get the best he can, do the best he can, play the best football he can, entertain as best he can , and win what he can .

i thoroughly expect him to be lying about referees and gouging eyes by Christmas Wink

Manchester United did not follow through with some of José Mourinho’s transfer targets because of misgivings about the players he had identified and a decision, from the top of the club, that he should not be allowed to get his way if it meant potentially wasting tens of millions of pounds on a short-term fix.

He's not going to last the season is he?

* Chief exec carpeting the manager
* Manager carpeting the players
* Manager carpeting the media
* Manager carpeting EVERYONE (has he smiled since 2017)
* Players saying the need better players

All in public too. The club looks in utter turmoil and disarray from the outside, and believe me I know what that's like only too well.

He's a dead man walking, it's just a case of when not if.

Moyes / Giggs / LvG / Mourinho / ??

Disappointing is a bit of an understatement.

We finished 19 points and +39 goals behind city, we're not going to close that gap without some changes.

We spent £67m and recouped around £24m so a net investment of around £43m? We needed more. With Carrick retiring, Tim FM on loan and a few youth team released we've not exactly broken the bank on wages either.

The manager has been publicly bullying Shaw for 18 months so far it hasn't worked and he has less than 12 months left on his contract, in fact in 143 days he can sign a pre-contract with another club and move for free an investment of over £40m including wages potentially pissed down the tubes.

The manager has now turned his sights on Anthony Martial and his very public chasing of a centre half this summer having bought Bailly and Lindelhof must be destabilising for them.

Regardless of how many errors Smalling & Jones make they seem to be teflon coated.

I've said for some time that the entire scouting, recruitment & retention policy at United is broken, it has been for the last 7-8 years, so including SAF's last few years. We've spent £645m or there about since SAF left but recovered around £235m which means over a 6 season period we've invested £68m a season. I think that's a pretty reasonable figure but when I look at the squad De Gea, Jones, Smalling, Young & Valencia are still here and probably still the managers 1st choice. We've lost players like Vidic, Evra and Rio, the replacements don't even come close!

It's in the midfield and up front that the major changes have taken place but we've lost players like RVP, Rooney, Nani, Giggs, Scholes, Welbeck & Hernandez. Some of those naturally came to the end of their career some never realised their potential but have we really replaced them with the same quality?

Zaha, Januzaj, Kagawa, Mkhitarayan, Di Maria, Depay and others have come and gone and yet last season we scored just 68 league goals. Something isn't right, big money has been spent, we are horrible to watch and we have a manager openly attacking his players and his board, trust me we are heading into a period like the early-mid 70's, football wilderness and fans are still denying this.
