Another fine win and The legend that is Ole has matched Sir Matt on 4 straight wins, a good start, 6 points off the Rentboys, 3 points off the Arsenal and a clean sheet. Positive stuff continues.

Thought it was going a bit Jose for a while but comfortable in the end. Disappointed we didn't put another one or two away, pretty pleasing overall.

Had to fight for it, but The legend that is Ole's team has it in them to do that.

Wasn't pretty, but we battled hard and deserved it. That Lascelles was lucky not to get 2 yellows, if not a straight red for the tackle similar to Bailiey, imo. And that bald scouse cunt could've also seen red. Filthy cunt!

It was a different test for this squad. We've passed that test. Next new test will be spuds. If they leave us space I think we could out score them. We may even sign a centre back in that time. Who knows.

4 in a row... nic, get your stats book out and tell us when we last has a better run of games would ya? Wink

On to the next with a smile on my face... Very Happy Very Happy Very Happy

Good win, even though a good few of ours were below standard tonight. But that's the sign of a good team, winning when you aren't playing well.

Rashford's finish shows that OGS is already working on the space between Rash's ears.

And nice to see Pogba put one back on Shelvey. Keano would have kicked the cunt's kneecap into Row DD, and he'd deserve it, the scouse slimeball.

Lindelof, has gone from the most useless and no confidence defender in the PL, to winning the ball midway in the opponents half, playing a nice pass then yelling at England's best winger for not teeing him up when he had made the run into the box.

That's progress !

Also, first time I've seen Rashford confidently slot one home rather than the one on one panic he has had a few times this year.

Jones and Valencia didn’t add much, Jones is an accident waiting to happen and Valencia is lacking minutes.

I do think we need a couple of centre-backs though, I’m not sure we can wait until the summer for them either. Spuds will tear us apart but at least we’ll put up a fight and give them something to think about.

No matter what this is so much better, looks, feels and sounds like United. What a difference from a few weeks back.

How Valencia survived for 96 minutes is a mystery. He seems to get a nosebleed every time he crosses the halfway line. I think he made one forward pass in the whole game. Is Darmian so bad by comparison?

Jones? God help us.

Matic improved as the game went on. He only gave the ball away about twice in the second half compared to four times in the first.

Lindelof was inspired. Didn't put a foot wrong for the whole game, ran his bollocks off, made every tackle count and all this whilst carrying the gurning carthorse. MotM for me.

Good shout on Darmian. The improvement we have seen in the rest of the squad, perhaps Darmian also suffered under LVG/Jose. The same could be said for Rojo, if he is ever fit enough to get a run of games.

Lindlehof has started looking like one of the new centre backs we needed. If Bailiey could get a run of games I think that could be a good partnership. That's another problem with our defenders... we seem to always have 2 or 3 injured. Defenders need a run of games together to build a partnership. We haven't had that luxury.

under jose sides came to OT and attacked us as they knew we had a weakness to us.
last night the fact Newcastle dplayed with 11 behind the ball at their home ground shows they had some fear of us.

small steps , but these things matter.

vermin and city have a goal start most games because sides are scared of them .

i do not think we should underestimate the role Mike Phelan plays here, he has been there, done that and has many a T shirt , he sat next to the greatest and learned well, he also has a calmness to him that 0le will need.
spurs will be a whole new test , and i think we will get a more realistic idea of where we are .

for the first time in a long long time i watched the interviews after the game just to hear 0le ,

he reminded me of a younger Klopp ...... Shocked

say this quietly ..but that's not a bad thing you know Wink

Some of those challenges were shocking, Championship type challenges rather than what you'd typically see in the top-flight.

Lascelles and Shelvey shouldn't have been on the pitch at the end, Lascelles was at it all night with Rashford and Shelvey with a blindsided rake down the back of his leg, a cowards tackle was that. Hopefully the FA will take a look at that, but I will not hold my breath, had Pogba done it I'm sure it's all we would have heard about post-match and through most of today. Great to see Pogba leave one on him, a bit of revenge is good for the soul.

This may sound counterintuitive but in many ways that was our best performance under The legend that is Ole.

Newcastle were on it, pressing with intensity, countering fast (taking advantage of our high def line, which I'm glad OGS didn't reduce under pressure) and taking shots where they could.

I was impressed that The legend that is Ole didn't just wait the game out by simply assuming that Newcastle would tire and we'd somehow find a way through. At 60 mins he put Sanchez and Lukaku on with literally immediate results. None of this faffing until the 75th minute, he saw something that wasn't working and he changed it decisively.

Lindelof just gets better all the time, DDG's confidence will be higher after the clean sheet, the barcode crowd were in loud form and made every half chance they had sound like an open goal. We did really well that game, a very professional performance. And look at Rashford, what has OGS done to his finishing?! Amazing.

I still think we need a world class centre half, a wing back to give Shaw competition (Wan-Bissaka at Palace has been very impressive) and probably a 30 goal a season forward, I'm confident Lukaku will get a lot better but still not sure he's the Yorke/RVN talisman we need.

Fuck it, bring on Spurs. It's no longer about whether we can take them - they will be, and are, worried about whether they can take us.

These are great days. Very Happy

EDIT: I forgot to mention Shelv...actually,yes, I did. Fuck him and the Uber he rode in on.

As ever feel free to disagree...........

Felt that Pogba only played well at times in this game, he certainly doesn't like being roughed up and has a tendency to sulk, on another day with another ref he'll try to carry out his own justice (as he did with Shelvey) and he'll get a red. Everything else was OK but we've seen so much better from him in the last 3 games he looked off last night (everyone is entitled to an off day).

Thought Jones & Valencia showed why that should really be the last game either ever play for United, even in this new enthused, excited and forward looking/thinking United they were both so awful I wanted to self-harm.

Thought Mata showed his age and that despite his ability his legs aren't going to do it for him, he's never had pace but the constant dynamic movement required for modern day premier league football shows why a far less skilful Lingard looks to be twice the player Juan is these days.

Thought Martial needs to learn to cross left footed and the sooner the better, he can fit into this Utd side on the left side long term.

That said I thought everyone else had good or very good games. Rashford is blooming under OGS and took his goal so well, he just wouldn't have scored that under Jose. Matic & Herrera were great, energy, vision, always looking to pass forward and quickly. Shaw and Lindelof were very good, what a difference in Lindelof I am genuinely lost for words on his sudden improvement.

We need a left sided centre half and unless Dalot bursts onto the scene in the 2nd half of this season a right back but the Martial, Pogba, Lingard with Rashford in front looks great. With Lukaku and Sanchez to come off the bench we can and will threaten anyone going forward.

As ever DDG was shite, total embarrassment, possibly the worst keeper in the UK including non-league & park football.

Agree that Pogba was less pivotal in this game but the Barcodes singled him out for special treatment. That slaphead eaglebeaked bastard Shelvey took team orders a bit far with his shithouse tackle but there was no doubt that their plan was to disrupt our supply lines by roughing Pogba up.

Absolutely agree on Valencia and Jones. Tony V has been afraid to take on full backs or pass the ball forwards for years but at least he could defend. Now he's overweight and slowing down, he can't even do that. Time to move him on.

Jones has the occasional good game but he's a total liability the rest of the time. We definitely need someone alongside Lindelof. Smalling is a broccoli munching hairdresser and Rojo has had more injuries than a multiple car pile up on the M1. Maybe if Bailly gets a run of games and stops trying to disembowel his opponents, he could step up. But we'd still need cover, so a decent CB is a priority.

As for DDG, how the fuck is that guy still at United? Rubbish, absolute pants.
