No complaints from me. It wasn't quite the last few performances but there were 9 changes, so it wouldn't be.

Positives:
Clean sheet
Lukaku scores 3 in 3
Not a great performance but a good result
Withstood a very intense Reading team
90 mins for Jones
Romero looked good

Negative:
Sanchez - I really hope this isn't something to worry about. Or we may have to look for another inside forward soon.

Almost needless to say, under Mourinho we may well have lost this one.

Onwards and upward, bring on the spuds.

Seeing the team prior to kick-off had Moyes, LvG or Jose selected that team we’d have lost. It wasn’t pretty, it never was going to be, but too few players looked like they are ready to step up into the first XI. I think that’s our biggest challenge, building a squad to rival City, I don’t include Murdering Scum in that as I don’t think they have a strong squad and they have been extremely lucky with injuries, or lack thereof.

Another win and 5 on the bounce, tough test next and something that will give us a much better idea of where we’re truly at. One thing is for sure, I will go into the Spurs game with a degree of confidence and exitement rather than fear and dread. I just hope our defenders can stay disciplined and that we have them on the back foot.

When you have won four on the bounce, have so many changes and got bigger games to come just getting the win is acceptable.

I am a bit disappointed none of the fringe players really took their opportunity. Although I didn't expect the quality to be near to that we've seen over recent weeks, I was hoping for a little bit more.

Positives...
Sanchez following up the Rashford assist vs barcodes with an assist for Lukaku. Will help his confidence. Hopefully the sub was precautionary.
Lukaku scoring again... having Rashford, martial and Lukaku all on form will give the opposition something to think about.

On to the next one

No complaints at all, a 5th win, a clean sheet, an outing for some fringe players.

Winning is a habit, we'd fallen out of and OGS has got us back into.

In terms of form is anyone else up there with us? Played 5 won 5 scored 16 conceded 3. You can only beat what's in front of you and we have done that.

Confident, happy, enjoying it, the players have everything they need now.

7 days until the spuds game (they still have to play Chelsea mid-week), then home games against Brighton & Burnley. It's been kinds to OGS but I still think we'll finish January unbeaten since he joined us.

Nine changes. That’s NINE. I can’t think of many teams that could do that and not see a dip in performance.

The main thing is that OGS has shown those players that they will get a chance. Many of them still seemed to be playing like Mourinho was in charge: fearful, uncertain. Whereas Mourinho made it very clear that he trusted very few players, OGS has thrown them all in together and challenged them to stake a claim for the first team. Exactly what SAF used to do. It’s how you keep a large squad happy and motivated.

Confidence is the most precious commodity in football. It’s coming back into the players. The Spuds game will show how far the restoration work has come. If the first team play to their abilities and with confidence, we will not be easily beaten. For now, that is a bloody good start.
